Amber Michelle Phillips Cervantes
| Amber was a precious baby. She was our first grandchild. She learned quickly and knew her complete alphabet and could pick out all the letters at age 14 months. Lisa taught her by telling and showing her in the little alphabet book. Lisa would say such as "This is an Apple, this is an A, it sounds like Ah". When she was just 2 years old, she was playing with my typewriter in my office one day, and after about 5 minutes, told me she could say her alphabet backwards. She had typed them forward and memorized them backward and proceeded to recite them that way for me. Lisa taught her phonics, so by the age of three she picked up a book at my house , sounded out the words and started reading. After she started school, when there was a play the kids put on, Amber always knew all the parts. Amber is grown now with a husband, home and 2 children. She graduated college and majored in math. She works as an executive compensation consultant. |
