Photo Restored by Betty Pickens Phillips John J. Summers was a farmer. In 1860, at age 46, he was living in Saline Co. ILL. with his 16 year old Dau. Sarah Ann, and his 14 year old son, James C. Summers. There was no wife listed. John was married to Isabella Jackson. Their children were:
James Felix Summers; Frank Summers; John J. SummersJr.; Sarah Ann "Sallie" Summers; & James C. Summers.
Francis Abney lived in Kaufman Co., Tx. in 1880. In his household, besides his wife and children was his father in-law, John Summers, age 65. (Information from 1880 Kaufman Co. census page 57-po1-Ed. 34)
John Summers is the Great Great grandfather of Betty Pickens Phillips, the great grandfather of Ocie Talmadge Pickens, the grandfather of Sarah Isabell Abney Pickens, The father of Sarah Ann "Sallie" Summers, the son of James Summers/Somers.
