Want-to-be-Artist--Oil Painting

This was my first Oil Painting in a class taught by

Mertie Griffin.

I don't draw, so most of the time I trace my patterns. Just because you can't draw, you don't have to give up the fun of painting.

This was my Brother, Bill, when he was 3 years old. He died of a heart atack at 50 years old. My mother always loved this snap of him made in 1929. The year he passed away, I painted her this picture for Mother's Day.

She loved the picture and kept it hanging in her living room. I entered it in the county fair and won a blue ribbon.

A spot of beauty on a dreary day.

I still have this one hanging. It was the last one I did.

It was in 1981. After this, I moved on to china painting.

I did this when orange was popular in the 80's.

This one is still in my kitchen.
