My Fish Tank

My daddy bought me my first aquarium for my 16th birthday many years ago. Since then I have had many aquariums, all sizes and shapes. This is my current one. It is two thirty gallon tanks joined with tubes that the fish can swim through from one side to the other. I love it!

Our Other Pets, Then & Now

Cindy in 1958 with puppy Freckles

We had Tiny for about 7 years

Puma was our first cat and won our hearts with his antics. I found him behind the barn when he was just a few weeks old.

Bernie was Cindy's dog. He was in a car wreck with her and we always thought he padded her from injury.

This was Jelly. We raised her and Peanut Butter with bottles. Jelly was a glutton. She would come inside and beg for shelled pecans. She is pictured here eating one on the piano keyboard. Once when we were putting up fresh corn, we had placed the corn ends beside the pecan tree where she had built a nest.

Jelly kept coming down the tree and getting the corn ends and taking them back to her nest. In a little while, the nest got so heavy with the corn ends, the bottom of the nest broke, and down fell Jelly, Peanut Butter, and all the corn...kerplop to the ground. They were not hurt. Their end came by means of the neighbor's cat.

Cheryl & Jelly

They were free to roam inside or out.

We usually had chickens for the kids. This is Cheryl and one of the setting hens who had hatched her chicks.

This is Cheryl and Sugar. We got Sugar before Byron was 3 and kept her for about 10 years.

They were best friends

Tony loved to name pets unusual names. He named this cat, "Dog".

We raised this little pig, "Pork Chop" on a bottle. When she was old enough to live in a pen under the shade tree, lightning struck and killed her.

This Cocker Spaniel was stolen from our yard when she was grown. She was stolen from her first litter of pups.

Amber and the Cocker Spaniel

Tony & Byron usually had calves to raise. This one had grown up and had a calf of her own.

Easter Chicks.

These were our Shelties, Spinner and Stormy.

Cass Purr was so cute when she was little and still is at age 14.

Sassy spent her old days asleep at Alvin's feet.

Cass Purr would give Sassy a bath each morning.

Alvin thinks he can catch that gofer, but I'll get it first.

This was Sassy. We had her for 12 years. She was just like our child. We still call Patches, our new dog, by her name sometimes.

What is this white, cold stuff!!??

This is Patches. She was just a few weeks old here. She is over a year now.

Her ears had not started to stand up in these photos. They stand straight up now. That will usually start at about 3 months old.

Nap time for Papa & Patches.

Gavin, our great grandson is not sure if he likes her.
